THE RAPTURE AND SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST 🙏✨

THE RAPTURE AND SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST 🙏✨

WHAT IS THE RAPTURE?

The hope of believers gathering to meet Christ, whether before or after a time of affliction, is symbolized by the rapture.

The term "rapture" describes an occasion when followers of Jesus Christ, both dead and alive, will be carried away from this world to meet Him. There is strong correlation between this incident and Jesus Christ's second advent.

The Latin word "rapturo," which means "caught up" or "snatched away," is the source of the English word "rapture," even though the word itself is not used specifically in the Bible. 🙏✨😊

Two Main Views:

Pre-Tribulation Rapture:

Some Christians believe in a pre-tribulation rapture. According to this view:

First, Jesus will come secretly for believers (both living and dead) in the rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17).

The world will be unaware of this event, as it will happen suddenly and without warning.

After the rapture, a seven-year period of tribulation will occur on earth.

At the end of the tribulation, Christ will return visibly with His church (the saints who were raptured) and establish His reign for 1,000 years (the millennium) .

Post-Tribulation Rapture:

Other Christians believe that the rapture will occur after the seven-year tribulation. According to this view:

The rapture will be part of Christ’s visible and triumphant return to end the present evil age.

There may or may not be a literal thousand-year reign of Christ on earth.

Ultimately, Christ will reign with His resurrected and transformed saints forever.

1. Common Ground:

While details vary, all Christians agree that Christ will ultimately return bodily, visibly, and gloriously.

The specifics of these events will be revealed in God’s own time.

BIBLE VERSES ABOUT THE RAPTURE

John 14:1-3 (NKJV), “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."

Acts 1:9-11 (NKJV), "Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, 'Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.' "

Revelation 1:7 (NKJV), "Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen."

Matthew 24:27 (NKJV), "For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be."

Matthew 24:37-42 (NKJV), "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming."

Luke 17:35-37 (NKJV), " 'Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left. Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.' And they answered and said to Him, 'Where, Lord?' So He said to them, 'Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.' ”

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (NKJV), "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus, we shall always be with the Lord.”

Revelation 6:14-17 (NKJV), "Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

Revelation 19:11-16 (NKJV), "Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

2 Peter 3:10 (NKJV), "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.”

1 Thessalonians 5:2 (NKJV), "For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.”

Revelation 22:12 (NKJV), "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to everyone according to his work.”

Matthew 25:31-34, 41 (NKJV), "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:' ... Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’”

The Second Coming of Jesus

The second coming of Jesus is a significant event in Christian theology, representing the fulfilment of God’s promises and the ultimate hope for believers. It’s a reminder to stay vigilant, live faithfully, and eagerly await His return.

Revelation 1:7: "Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So, it is to be. Amen."

This verse emphasizes the visible and universal nature of Jesus’ return. His appearance will be unmistakable, and it will evoke a profound response from all people

Hebrews 9:28:"So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation."

Here, we learn that Jesus will appear a second time, not as a sacrificial offering for sin (as in His first coming) but as the triumphant Savior bringing salvation to those who eagerly await Him.

1 Peter 1:5: "who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."2

Matthew 24:42 "Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming."

Matthew 24:29-31: The sun will be darkened, the moon won’t give its light, and stars will fall from heaven. The sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. Angels will gather His elect from all corners of the earth.

In this passage, Jesus Himself describes signs related to His second coming:

John 14:3: Jesus said, "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also."

1 Thessalonians 5:23: "Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

This verse highlights the importance of living blamelessly and being spiritually prepared for Christ’s return.

SIGNS of the Second Coming of JESUS

Deception by False Christs:

Jesus Himself warned that false messiahs would arise, claiming to be Him. These deceivers will mislead people and create confusion. As believers, we need discernment to recognize the true Christ from the impostors.

Disputes and Warfare Among Nations:

The world will experience conflicts, wars, and tensions between nations. This unrest reflects the brokenness of humanity and the need for God’s ultimate intervention.

Disease and Famine Worldwide:

The Bible speaks of plagues, famines, and natural disasters as signs of the end times. These global crises will impact humanity and serve as reminders of our dependence on God

Deliverance of Believers to Tribulation:

Believers will face persecution and tribulation. While this is distressing, it also signifies that God’s plan is unfolding, leading to His ultimate victory.

Defection of False Believers:

Some who initially profess faith will fall away. Their departure highlights the importance of genuine commitment and perseverance in following Christ.

Declaration of the Gospel to the Whole World:

Jesus said that the gospel would be preached to all nations before His return. Advances in communication and technology have facilitated this global proclamation of the good news1.

Remember that these signs won’t necessarily occur suddenly; they may build up over time. Jesus compared His return to a thief in the night—unexpected and sudden. So, as believers, we remain watchful, faithful, and hopeful, eagerly awaiting His coming.
