REVERENCE THE LORD

REVERENCE-MEANS HONOUR OR RESPECT

🙏🌟 Reverence for the Lord God Almighty is a deeply profound and awe-inspiring respect.

Reverence involves recognizing God’s holiness, obeying His commands, and approaching Him with humility and awe. May we continue to honour and revere the Lord in our lives.

Psalm 5:7-But as for me, by Your abundant lovingkindness I will enter Your house, at Your holy temple I will bow in reverence for You

Psalm 2:11-Worship the Lord with reverence and rejoice with trembling.

Psalm 89:7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.

1 Samuel 12:24 Only fear the Lord and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

Psalm 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.

Hebrews 12:28: “Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe.”

Exodus 3:5: “Then He said, ‘Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.’”

Proverbs 1:7: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

Psalm 111:10: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding has all those who do His commandments; His praise endures forever.”

Leviticus 19:30: “You shall keep my Sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.”

1 Chronicles 16:25: “Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise!”

🙏🌟 Reverencing God Almighty is a profound and essential aspect of our spiritual journey. Here are some key points on how we can cultivate reverence for God:

TREASURE HIS NAME:

Ø  Refrain from using God’s name in vain or attaching it to expletives. Recognize the holiness of His name and treat it with utmost respect.

REVERENCING GOD’S NAME IS A VITAL ASPECT OF OUR FAITH.

🙏🌟 Let’s see what the Bible says about this:

Ø  Exodus 20:7:Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” 1

Ø  Leviticus 19:12:And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.” 1

Ø  Matthew 5:33-37 (Jesus’ teaching): “You have heard that it was said to our people long ago, ‘Don’t break your promises, but keep the promises you make to the Lord.’ But I tell you, never swear an oath. Don’t swear an oath using the name of heaven, because heaven is God’s throne. Don’t swear an oath using the name of the earth, because the earth belongs to God. Don’t swear an oath using the name of Jerusalem, because that is the city of the great King. Don’t even swear by your own head, because you cannot make one hair on your head become white or black. Say only yes if you mean yes, and no if you mean no. If you say more than yes or no, it is from the Evil One.” 2

🙏🌟 Remember, God’s name is holy, and we should use it with reverence and respect. Let our words reflect our love and honour for Him.

ACKNOWLEDGE GOD AS THE CREATOR is a fundamental aspect of our faith

Understand that God is the Creator of all things. His power and presence are beyond our comprehension. Acknowledge His sovereignty and authority over the universe.

These verses remind us of God’s creative power, His sovereignty over all things, and our privilege to worship Him as the Creator

Ø  Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

Ø  Nehemiah 9:6: “You alone are the Lord. You have made the heavens, the earth, the seas, and all that is in them. The heavenly host bows down before You.”

Ø  Isaiah 45:18: “For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens: He is the God who formed the earth and made it, establishing it and not creating it as a waste place but forming it to be inhabited.”

Ø  Psalm 148:2-5: “Praise Him, all His angels; praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, highest heavens, and the waters above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded, and they were created.”

Ø  Colossians 1:16: “For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.”

Ø  Revelation 4:11: “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honour and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will, they existed and were created.”
