The Armor of God is important to the believer of God!!!
Ephesians 6:10-18 KJV
10 Finally, my brethren,
be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole
Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh
and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of
the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto
you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore,
having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of
righteousness.
15 And your feet shod
with the preparation of the gospel of peace.
16 Above all, taking the
shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of
the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of
salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with
all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all
perseverance and supplication for all saints.
Take note that
The full armor of God
protects us when we have doubts, fears, and guilt.
It helps us to stand
against the accusations of the Enemy is to believe what God’s Word says about us
instead.
Isaiah 59:17 describes
the Lord putting on 2 of the pieces of the armor we see in Eph. 6:
Righteousness as a breastplate and a helmet of salvation on His head
He put on righteousness
as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of
vengeance for clothing and wrapped himself in zeal as a cloak. Isa. 59:17 (ESV)
it is called the armor of God because it is God’s. He gives you His armor
to wear. It’s what He wears. We do not resist temptation in our own strength or
willpower. It’s all in God’s strength.
Pieces of the armor of God are:
Belt
of truth
Breastplate
of righteousness
Shoes
– readiness of the Gospel of peace
Shield
of faith
Helmet
of salvation
Sword
of the Spirit
LISTEN, Once you are suited in the armour, then pray in the Spirit always! BECAUSE Through Jesus' work on the cross, believers can now pray directly for God's power and strength to walk rightly.
To do this, we must be able to stand up when the enemy tries to knock us down.
Good News is, the battle is ultimately
God's, but we do have an active part to play by: Putting on the armor this is the first step to being
victorious.
Then, "Do not be afraid of
them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you” (Deuteronomy 3:22).
The Lord assures us "I
have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all
the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you" (Luke 10:19).
How to Put on The Armor of God?
Reading
His Word (Joshua 1:8)
Studying
and Memorizing passages (Psalm 119:105)
Praying
(Psalm 145:18)
Fellowship
(Hebrews 10:24-25)
Sharing
testimonies and truths (1 Peter 3:15)
This is important: Worship,
in all its forms, keeps us turned toward God. As we give regular time to
acknowledge and celebrate Him, the enemy's influence over us diminishes. Our
daily lives will show more evidence of God's power at work, and our words will
carry more of His authority.
