THE SEED OF FORGIVENESS:

 



Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Psalm 32:1

God is calling us to repent so He can forgive us.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

“Come now, and let us reason together, “Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18

Jesus’ instruction to us:

And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:25

If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him. Luke 17:3b-4

Peter asked:

Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” Matthew 18:21-22

We ought to:

... be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. Colossians 3:13

Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Matthew 6:14

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Matthew 6:12

I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Psalm 32:5

Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. - Colossians 3:12-13

If we don’t forgive, then:

But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:15

Forgiveness and the Holy Spirit:

Therefore, I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Matthew 12:31

Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. Matthew 12:32

What Jesus Christ has done for us:

And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments. And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments. - Luke 23:34

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14

Therefore, let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. Acts 13:38-39

In Him, we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. Ephesians 1:7

You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.

 Psalm 86:5

For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. Psalm 86:5

But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners. - Romans 4:5

Though we are overwhelmed by our sins, you forgive them all.- Psalm 65:3

 For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. Psalm 103:11-12

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. - 1 John 1:9

For this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. Matthew 26:28
